I met this beautiful family back when it was just mom and dad. I remember sitting in a cafe and talking with them about what a Fresh 48 session would be like. T was pregnant with their first child and they wanted to make sure I was a fit. Those days after giving birth are incredibly special and vulnerable times, and understandably they wanted to make sure they would be comfortable having me around. T & D ended up giving me a shot and we ended up getting some spectacular photographs of those early moments. It was a truly special morning and I was so grateful to be welcomed into their home.


Since that time we've lived through a global pandemic and they've welcomed a second child into the world. I was lucky to meet him (from a distance) during the summer after he was born. Their smiles are contagious and it was such a treat to meet their newest member and to see how their first born had grown. Needless to say, I was so happy when they contacted me this summer to come and document a family reunion after 3 years of Covid isolation from their loved ones. Watching them grow as parents and their children grow has been such a beautiful part of the last few years and meeting T's family as I documented their afternoon together just brought home what an amazing family they truly are. They welcomed me into their celebration and within minutes I felt I was part of the group.


The images below are a selection of the gallery they received from our 2 hour family storytelling session. They received their images in both colour and black and white so they have the choice to print whichever called out to their hearts.


I primarily spent the time documenting everyone in action, but we took a few minutes for everyone to get a group family photo as well.


This group travelled from across the world and country to be together and, as always, I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them and document the everyday magic that is their love and family.
