Memory Quilt - Christmas Magic

Years of collecting those precious Christmas pyjamas culminated with the creation of this bespoke memory quilt. Mom shared her vision with me and I created a rough image to give her an idea of how I thought we could incorporate all her ideas into one cohesive quilt. This is the end product.

The Christmas tree is decorated with ornaments made from little pj memories. Star Wars, Sasquatch, Gingerbread men, 12 days of Christmas, Santa, polar bear, candies and the Grinch all make an appearance, with some mini Christmas lights strewn in and a shining star atop the tree.

The gifts along the bottom include Star Wars decals from pjs as well as a group of presents and a toy soldier standing in front of a giant candy can leaning against a fireplace. Atop the fireplace I've made a little gingerbread house for the teeny tiny gingerbread people who lived on a pair of pjs, as well as a little angel and a pink deer.

Behind the tree there's a window, like they have in their home. If you look carefully you'll see a little Millennium Falcon being pulled by some tie fighters. There's even a red nosed one!

Along the top of the quilt is a string of Christmas lights and giant snowflakes.

It makes me happy to think of this family pulling this quilt out at Christmases for years to come. A beautiful connection between the past and present, tying all the memories together.
