Love Quilt

The love of community in a quilt.

An amazing, one of a kind, 'they're never gonna forget it', kind of a gift.

They make especially thoughtful baby gifts, wedding gifts and gifts for those who are going through a difficult time.

A mish-mash of fabrics from the recipients family and friends are brought together into a special LOVE QUILT.

You contact the friends and family of the person you'd like to have a Love Quilt made for and ask them to send you a piece of fabric for the quilt. Once you've received all the swatches you send them to me and we create a little bit of magical love for them.

What kind of fabrics can people send:

• an item or piece of an item from their clothing
• clothing from a loved one who's passed away so they can be part of the quilt too
• a piece of fabric they've purchased to either represent themselves, the recipient, their relationship, etc.
• if you have questions let me know, I'm happy to help guide you through the process

How large of a piece of fabric:

• There is no minimum or maximum. The amount of fabric needed will depend on how many people take part and how large you'd like the quilt. Supplemental fabric is always an option to flesh out a design or create a cohesive vibe.
• Ideally a minimum of a fat quarter of fabric (18" x 22") is recommended.
• Some people like to send a few different pieces of fabric after going to a fabric store and finding a number of pieces that call to them - that's a-ok!
• If there's a specific theme or colour scheme you'd like to have you can request people choose their fabrics based on that. You can also ask me to include supplemental fabrics that tie together your desired theme/colour scheme.

What design should I use?

• It all depends on your preference and your budget. Designs can range from a basic patchwork to a custom art quilt or a purchased pattern. You can tell me about the recipient and we can brainstorm ideas together. Whatever we make will be loved.

Supplemental Fabric

If you'd like me to add supplemental fabric to flesh out your quilt to a larger size or to create a specific aesthetic I can help you choose the fabric(s) that fit your vision.

Special Backing

Your quilt cost includes the batting and a variety of quilting cotton backings. You can upgrade to a minky fleece, linen mix, or designer fabric if you'd like a specific look or feel.

Custom Free Motion Quilting Design

Your quilt cost will include a free-motion stippled quilting design. You can upgrade to a specially designed free-motion design that allows me to incorporate any symbolic imagery you may like.

A few times a year I open up more of my personal time to work. These spots are opened to those who have some type of personal timeline that doesn't allow for them to wait until their spot on the waitlist comes up. The additional fee for this is $500.
